A guide for your care questions

Orlando care, in plain words

# Where can I look for care in Orlando?

Ask for the name of the health professional who would assess you. Check that person’s licence before comparing treatment offers.

## In a room

An in-person clinic gives you a place for a face-to-face visit. Ask who will assess you, who can prescribe and how to reach that person between visits.

As of September 28, 2026, Florida’s health department search includes doctors, nurses, physician assistants and pharmacies.

A physician assistant holds a health professional licence and works under a doctor’s supervision in Florida, as of September 28, 2026.

Ask what the clinician’s role is. A job title on an ad is only the start of the check.

Word to know

Licence

The state’s permission for a health professional to practise.

## Over a screen

Telehealth means a care visit held from a distance, such as over video or phone.

Under Florida’s rules as of September 28, 2026, routine telehealth care needs a clinician with a Florida licence or out-of-state registration.

Florida-licensed clinicians need no added telehealth registration as of that date.

A registered out-of-state telehealth clinician’s website must link to Florida’s published registration details, as of September 28, 2026.

Word to know

Registration

Florida’s route for certain clinicians licensed elsewhere to give telehealth care here.

## Check the person and the pharmacy separately.

As of September 28, 2026, Florida’s website has a “practitioner” search for health professionals and an “establishment” search for businesses, including pharmacies.

Ask for the full name and licence or registration number.

Match the name and type of licence in the public record.

Ask the licensing board whether the listed licence status permits the care being offered.

If a board action is listed, ask the board whether it limits the person’s work.

Get the pharmacy’s full name so you can check that business on its own.

A record without posted action does not prove that the care is good.

Word to know

Practitioner

A health professional. Choose “establishment” when searching for a pharmacy or another business.

## An absent clinic listing needs an explanation.

As of September 28, 2026, many Florida clinics need an AHCA licence, but some practices owned by licensed health professionals are exempt.

AHCA means the Agency for Health Care Administration, the state office that regulates these facilities.

An absent listing alone is not proof a practice is breaking the law.

Ask whether the practice needs this licence and which public record applies.
