A guide for your care questions

Orlando care, in plain words

Where can I read the evidence?

Start with the question you need answered. A licence record, a drug label and a research paper each answer a different kind of question.

Check the person and the pharmacy.

  • Florida: search health professional and pharmacy licences

As of September 28, 2026, Florida’s website shows licence status, details about health professionals and public actions taken by licensing boards.

Use a full name or licence number. Match the person who would assess you. Ask the board whether the listed status permits the care being offered.

A record with no posted board actions does not prove that the care is good.

  • Florida: registration for care by phone or video

As of September 28, 2026, this Florida page explains registration for out-of-state health professionals giving care by phone or video.

Read this when the health professional is in another state. Ask for the registration record. Ask whether it allows that person to give the care you are seeking.

Check the medicine.

  • FDA: questions about custom-made medicines

As of September 26, 2026, this FDA guide explains that custom-made medicines lack FDA approval.

Read why a custom-made medicine might be used and who oversees it.

  • FDA: concerns about unapproved weight-care products

This FDA page covers unapproved products, medication mistakes and product claims, as of September 26, 2026.

Find the section that names your medicine. For example, use the section on semaglutide when asking about a semaglutide offer. Write down what it says and any cautions about that medicine.

  • FDA: what a claim of approval means

An FDA registration is not approval of a care business or its products, as of September 26, 2026.

If an offer shows an official-looking badge, ask what public record it refers to and what that record proves.

Check payment terms.

  • Medicare: the temporary Bridge program

As of September 26, 2026, this Medicare page describes the temporary Bridge program. People who qualify pay $50 from their own money for each monthly supply.

Read when the program ends and what you would pay.

  • Medicare: who qualifies and which medicines are included

As of September 26, 2026, the Bridge checks who qualifies and covers only certain medicines as pills or injections. The kind of injection pen also matters.

For the visit, bring the medicine’s name and note its form: pill or injection. For an injection, include the pen or container name. Ask whether you and that exact version qualify.

Reporting a problem does not prove its cause.

An adverse event means something unwanted happened while a medical product was being used.

As of September 17, 2026, the FDA publishes reports of medicine problems. One such report cannot prove the medicine caused the problem.

Those reports cannot tell how often a side effect happens.

FDA: reports of medicine problems and what they can tell you

For example, a count of reports cannot tell you your chance of a side effect.

Ask the clinician what studies show about the exact medicine being offered.
